Who: Castiel and Meg What: Chatting Where: The library where Cas works When: Monday, 9:30. Rating: Low
It was a job. Cas didn't appreciate the distraction from more important things but, on the other hand, it was a break from the empty days that also went along with being human. There were different sounds, the chance to learn something and ability to, on occasion, help someone with a need to find something they wanted. It was never going to be his passion but he liked books and so it bothered him less than some necessary labours.
Castiel was struggling with his new life and worry for his friends, for Dean who was troubled and unsure, for Sam who doubted himself so much, consumed much of his peace. A part of him wanted to push them into getting over their hangups, wanted to shout at them they were good enough weren't they? They'd done more got that bad, or at least meant well, but he wasn't sure his word held much weight against their doubt or even if it should in the weight of his own doubt. Some days it was easier to focus on making sure all the books were in the right order and the computer knew where the ones that were leaving were.
Meg, who had been kind to him, revealed she would be coming to to library regularly and he didn't mind that, seeing people he knew and liked as he went about his day. There were few he had really had much contact with but he did appreciate the regard of those who had shown it to him. He dusted down the tables, as he'd been shown, before opening the doors to the public.
