Ruby shook her head at his insistance that it was all fine, and turned her gaze to meet Sam, dropping her hand near his and entwining her fingers in his larger ones. She didn't need to be an expert to know he was still spooked and that was her fault. Her joke had gone a little too far and now she needed to make sure things with him were okay before they did anything with hex bags. It was a silly lame joke that had gone wrong and now he was nervous. It wasn't Andrea's fault but she seemed to have opened a can of worms Ruby had never expected. Demons didn't have babies unless it was a very specific prophacy baby. She wondered about that sometimes. Kid with a lot of power, but hard to control of course. But that wasn't the important thing here. Sam was.
"It wasn't okay. I can see it got to you and I'm sorry for that. I really am. I just...since thats not gonna happen ever I thought I could joke about it and you'd see that its all it was. I love you and I'd never purposefully joke like that"
She had been going to say purposefully hurt you, but that would be a lie wouldn't it. Of course she'd purposefully hurt him. Thats what she was doing everyday. Sam, who wanted a relationship without lies on either side of it was being lied to again. And she never wanted him to discover it. Couldn't they just go on as they were?. Couldn't it just stay like this forever.
"Take your time, with the beer." she told him, squeezing his hand softly in her own. "Whatever you want. I want to teach you about the hex bags but we have all night don't we?. You're gonna stay with me tonight?"
