Someone was talking to her. Oh oh! This would be when she should probably try and get some answers about what had happened, but then Jane saw that it was a child talking. The last thing she wanted to do was put her burden on a kid. That would simply be awful.
"Not exactly lost something, no," she told the girl with a small smile, and then looked back at the tree as the kitten let out another cry. "He seems to be stuck up there. Though it could be a she. It's not my cat, but I couldn't turn away from it crying."
Jane pursed her lips as the sight of the poor creature and rubbed at her arms. It was getting darker which meant it would get colder and neither she nor the cat should probably still be outside when that happened. First things first though. How to get the cat down?
She looked back at the girl and then back toward the tree again.
"You wouldn't by any chance know a good way to get cats out of trees, do you?"
