Who: Guy of Gisborne and Martha Jones What: The TALK Where: A bar near Epiphany's When: 29th December, Evening Rating: TBD Status: In Progress
He supposed the message was not unexpected. The text from Martha Jones asking could they meet. This would be that 'talk' he'd heard so much about. Marian's father had never really dared, not that he'd have listened if he had. But Rose, she had a group of friends each more worryingly intimidating than the last. But the dark skinned girl named Martha should have been the one he expected most of all. It had been her death that had brought Rose to his door. But he'd not taken advantage of that and Martha would realise that by the time this conversation was done. But between Rose's history with the Doctor and his with Marian, he could understand the worry. Of course he could.
He had arranged to meet her at a bar not far from Epiphany's place. Not any of the bars owned by displaced and not that Roadhouse place. He was more than ready for anything that might come of this conversation but he didn't want gossip. Rose didn't deserve that. She was better than that. So he'd offered to bring Martha to the bar buy her a drink and they would talk.
He hadn't told Rose, there was little point of course. He'd tell her when it was done. Or Martha would. They'd say their pieces in this meeting and hopefully an understanding would be made. But Martha had travelled with this Doctor too, and she understood history and other times just as well as Rose. And he expected she fully knew who he was and the things he had done in his past. She was likely worried about her friend and in some ways he couldn't blame her for that. He could not deny his temper, or his jealousy. And her closeness to people like John Watson did bother him. Probably always would. But then perhaps Martha would understand that too.
He could not be the only one to be wary of it.
He ordered a pint and sat down at a table in the corner waiting for his guest to join him. He'd order her drink when she knew what she wanted. And once he knew it wasn't going to go in his face.
