There was a part of Helena that was telling her she should leave. It wasn't due to anything regarding Svetlana, it was all due to what she was used to because of her world. She'd become accustomed to being on her own, to not talking to people longer than was necessary. But still she found herself still there because it felt right, it felt, to some level, comfortable. Yes their friendship had been in a bad sort when the Seal had taken Helena, but that didn't mean that there was no sense of familiarity to her being there now. It was comforting as things were coming back to her.
"I did, actually. As you saw the television show, you know I did not exactly have anyone to talk to on a personal level. But I did use things from my dreams to help me." She paused a moment, almost uncertain if she should reveal something or not, but went ahead with it regardless. "I used what you once told me about not keeping things inside and shutting down. It was not exactly the easiest thing to accomplish when I was alone more often than not, but I did a lot of writing. And it was that piece of advice that caused me to confront Artie in the first place. I would not have in any other situation given the adversarial history between the two of us."
Was that a shocking revelation? Possibly, but Helena knew if she hadn't had those dreams about Svetlana, she would not have confronted Artie about the Astrolabe nor would she have informed Mrs. Frederic of her suspicions. Without those dreams, she would have continued tracking down the artifact Artie wanted her to while keeping silent on the thoughts in her head. Had she made the correct choice? That remained to be seen, but she could at least rest assured that by telling Mrs. Frederic, she was doing her part to help Artie. Because really, no one knew the peril of time travel artifacts the way H.G. Wells did.
