"Well, that is an excellent point, my dear. Clearly they wish us to believe that that me studying Chauvelin happened either before this or it is simply assumed. But really, assuming that me studied Chauvelin? That is a slight stretch for my mind to make." Really, this version of him wasn't right. Well, none of them in this show were quite right. Sure there were pieces here and there, obviously, but the larger part of the characters, the major players at least, were different to what he and Marguerite had lived. At least the two of them had the humor to take this as entertainment and different versions of themselves rather than being a rip off of their own lives.
For now, anyway. Things could change the further in they got.
Though upon seeing the fact this version of him had been saved by Chauvelin of all people, Percy's jaw hit the floor. "Well I'll be dashed. That was unexpected. I don't think I can handle a Chauvelin saving both of us." Even if Chauvelin was only doing it to save his daughter, it was still completely unnerving. "I am now completely confused as to what they are trying to convey with Chauvelin. Are they trying to say even someone so fervent in his beliefs as he is not completely black? Nevermind the fact the man we know only ever wears black as that is a different matter altogether." He was more referring to the blood-thirsty, black-souled man Percy had come to know in their world. Percy was really trying his best to understand what the writers were trying to set up for by characterizing all of them the way they were. Chauvelin was the most interesting one to think of in such terms.
Then moving on to the next episode, Percy was a bit dumbfounded to find that Chauvelin got put on the task of getting the Dauphin back. Somehow he'd gotten a promotion? And he seemed to be more in control of himself. Well, while that was more to the Chauvelin he knew, it was slightly jarring within the context of this series. Then there was the whole scene of Marguerite confronting Percy about shutting her out and so forth.
"Is it just my observations being off, or does it seem that the main characters here keep see-sawing back and forth with each other and never quite making progress?"
