"Well yes, it is not just hair color. The writers need some help. Though, in a way, perhaps it is better the you in this show is brunette?" Percy felt that keeping the Marguerite they were watching as a brunette helped add to the fact that this wasn't the right Marguerite, it wasn't the woman he'd fallen in love with. So the fact the characterization of, well, all of them being off did help in separating their own life to the one they were watching. It, however, didn't exactly fend off any feelings of contempt for the rather idiotic characterizations.
"I do actually like that, making use of what he has on hand to help." And that was, pretty much, the only good thing that could be said about the man calling himself Percy Blakeney on this show. Clearly adaptations took liberties in the story and people involved, but this was really seeming like they were taking it to a whole new level of taking liberties.
"No, you most certainly are not hallucinating that. Unless I've suddenly come over with a fever, but all I feel is an immense sense of shock at this turn of events." Chauvelin being apparently sympathetic was wrong on so many levels. Percy could feel his brain being completely unable to process this. In fact, any time Chauvelin was on screen, Percy's brain just stopped working altogether and had issue processing whatever Chauvelin said or did. Hopefully the rest of the episodes would see things improve to how they were supposed to be.
Which started looking up. The banter between Percy and Marguerite was more typical and filled with sarcasm and not coldness. That was encouraging. Though the argument over letting Marguerite come help proved interesting. Though at the nun comment, Percy side-eyed his wife.
"Well okay, she has a point there. I don't think I would make a very good woman." And that was pretty much all there was to it on that topic.
But of course, Percy would worry about the Marguerite in the show going, he didn't exactly find that comforting. He knew his wife could handle herself, though he would probably be hesitant to allow her to get into that much danger. But still, he knew Marguerite could handle herself. The one in this show? He was very leery of in that respect.
Percy could not help but burst out in laughter when Chauvelin was left with the pigs. His laughter was that kind of belly laugh that brought tears to your eyes. "Chauvelin is in with the pigs. Oh dear me, that is just priceless!"
