Guy wasn't actually sure he wanted normal. Normal to him sounded exceedingly dull. But if normal meant bringing Rose tea and helping her feel better then that he could do. He'd be happy to get by if that's what it was. But that said, she had other friends he wished could do this for her too. Help her instead of always going to her for advice and help. It worked both ways in his opinion, or at least it should have, and Rose right now needed to have people there for her.
"I suppose it took that long for people to care enough about others. Mostly outside of towns and all that life was what you made of it. It was hard, yes. But you did what you had to. You paid your taxes so people like, well, me, could live in more luxury than we probably deserved to. I expect people began to resent that and it lead to times like your friends. Full of war. But really, as subjects go Rose, we could do better than social decline."
He watched her drink her tea, facing him. She was so very close now and he couldn't help but notice that. "Do you think I'd even do well at normal. I'm reasonably sure I'd just get bored if I had to be normal, and so would you. Besides I expect the tea is all wrong and improperly brewed. I'm no good at that kind of thing."
