But he hadn't made her cry. Not this time, anyway. This stupid world and all of its strange new things had. Wasn't it hard enough trying to get used to a place nine hundred years in the future? Did they have to throw in things like demons and ghosts and ghouls and blasted hellhounds? She wasn't a cynical woman. She had truly believed once, as an idealistic young girl, that she would marry this man and have a wonderful life with him. They'd sit as Lord and Lady Locksley and they'd have a few gorgeous children and life would actually be just fine.
She should have known better. That life had already been torn from her once. The Seal should have given her a second chance at it when Guy had found Robin and brought him to her that day. And now? Now she wondered.
"I love you," she said softly, forcing her eyes on to his bruised and battered face. "So much, Robin. You know you're not alone in this, don't you? Whatever's about to happen, whatever you're dealing with, I'm here. I'm always here, I've always been here. Nothing is ever going to change that."
