He laughed, though it was quiet, and brief, when she mentioned China. Even with everything as mixed up as it was for him that was an amusing thought. It felt strange, though. Like he couldn't take a full breath, as though some weight was on his chest, stopping him. He couldn't remember all of what had happened. Or maybe it was just that the pain in his arm had distracted him from the rest of it.
His brow furrowed when she said that, closing his eyes. "He wasn't? I thought..." He sighed. "I don't know what I thought. I just want to go home."
