At least he was speaking. Not very clearly, but who could blame him? But the sound of his voice was more comfort than she could express without tears building in her eyes. It had only been a short time earlier when she thought she would never hear it again. His eyes were unfocused but they were open and they were still that beautiful shade of blue and soon, she knew, they'd sparkle again with that impossible gleam they took on when he had a horrible idea to make their lives that much more trouble.
She reached over, taking the hand that wasn't injured, giving it a slight squeeze. "The medbay. At the Complex. We found you..." Her voice choked slightly on the words and she swallowed, refusing to let him see just how close it had been for him. "You're safe now." Was he, though? This place had already been attacked once. They'd had one fatality inside the medbay already. It was why, even then, when visiting her injured husband, she had her bow at her side and a dagger on her hip.
