Krypto was powerless but he didn't even seem to notice. He still behaved just like he always did. Unlike Kon he really didn't seem to have any major issues with the idea of being just an average dog. Especially because it meant immediately upon return Lois was petting him. He made a content rumbly noise as he leaned against her into her hand and watched the scene infront of them out of the corner of his eyes. He made a low whimpering sound at the sight of the blood but wasn't scared away. If anything Krypto was more fearless then ever. Like he had something to prove. He could handle being a normal dog.
Whether or not Kon could handle being a normal human on the other hand was up for debate. It was hard to move with so much pain coursing through his body. Nightwing could handle it though, so could he. Nightwing did this every day while being human. It was just like Emma said, didn't need super powers to be a super hero. Now if only he felt more heroic it might have given him just a little more passion in killing the thing. Maybe the knife would have worked. He'd been told to always carry a silver knife at camp, so he did. camp was useful even if it hadn't been his favorite thing.
Kon heard Lois fall before he saw her. "No.." As he spoke in a hoarse whimper. He noticed the thing Krypto had shoved toward him. A lighter. The creature wasn't effected by the silver blade but what about the lighter? He remembered some monsters needed to be destroyed by fire. Just like getting rid of a ghost required that the bones be caught on fire. He did pay attention when it counted usually. He had actually been fairly good at Bobby's classes. He picked up the lighter and waited for the creepy crawler to come within range before torching it.
Only when it finally went down and burnt to the ground did he turn to run to Lois and kneel by her side. Shaking her didn't seem like a good idea but he did call her name a few times to try to get a reaction. Then he got panicked and pulled out his phone to make a quick plea for help. He stayed by her side until said help arrived, no way in hell was he going anywhere.
