Aside from that attitude, which Jack had apologized for, he seemed to be handling all of this fairly well. Sam was pretty sure that he was supposed to be feeling relieved about that rather than the rush of curiosity that he got instead. Those who were able to cope with situations like these better than some of the others always turned out to be the kind of people that had been through similar events; they always knew how to react, what to say, what to think and feel. Sam had been through some pretty crazy stuff himself. He wondered if he would have been able to behave so calmly about everything if he were in their shoes. Funnily enough, he highly doubted it.
"I guess that Space Control thing you've got going for you includes time traveling?" Oh, wow. That was like some really cracked out sci-fi movie. "Don't worry about it. I've dealt with a lot worse, trust me. You're just disoriented and confused. You're actually handling this pretty well, all things considered."
Somewhere to stay? Ah, something that Sam could give Jack a definite answer on without any trouble. "Yeah, actually. We put together an apartment building for those of you who got brought here. I think there are still plenty of rooms left inside, if you're interested."
