Violet (Narrative)
Wednesday evening, November 28, 2012; Near a church
Arrival
PG/Complete
She kept trying to leave, but it didn't work. Every time, she was pulled back into the house, stuck in a never-ending loop that she couldn't get out of. The reality of what was happening was starting to set in and she felt a tightening in her chest as she looped back into the house, once again. She felt the tears rolling in steady streams down her cheeks, but she didn't remember starting to cry in the first place. "Please, Tate, I don't wanna die." She begged, staring at him, hoping for some kind of absolution.
"It's too late for that." he said and her whole world shattered. Her knees buckled and she dropped to sit on the stairs. He tried to calm her down, but insisted she had to trust him.
She stood up and followed his lead down under the house. There, just under the house, shoved in the crawlspace there, her lifeless and rotting body. A whiny sort of depressed moan escaped her and she lifted her arms to cradle her head. "No..." she sobbed, fresh tears rolling down her cheeks as it dawned on her. "I died when I took all those pills..."
A fresh wave of sobs took her over and she moved to sit down, her legs too weak to allow her to stand now. Tate was talking, but she was barely listening, only enough to know that he was saying something, but she couldn't focus on the actual words he was speaking. She buried her face in her hands and cried for the loss of her own life.
When she braved a chance to look back up, she wasn't under the house with Tate, looking at her dead body shoved in a crawlspace. She was sitting on the steps of a church that she didn't recognize. A new sort of fear gripped her as she took in her surroundings with wide eyes, trying to place where she was. She pushed herself to her feet and started walking down the street. As she wandered further into the town, certain flashes of memories of this place came to her. "Lawrence..." she whispered to herself, shaking her head. This was the last place she wanted to be right now.
