Who: Amy, Rory and River
What: AHAHAHAHAAAAA A cheery recounting of the life of River Song
When: Saturday Night
Where: TARDIS
Rating: Angst?
Status: In Progress
This was happening. This was happening now and not even an entire box of wine could fix the amount of fear Amy felt snaking around her gut. She knew Melody, better than she bet Melody thought she did, and when she said she only wanted to go over this once, Amy knew whatever it was, it was going to be bad. This was what happened to her little baby Melody, her best friend Mels, and her daughter River, and nothing could terrify Amy more than the truths she might learn. The orphanage. The Silence. Madame Kovarian. The Doctor's death. Stormcage. She knew these things in a piecemeal fashion. Knew the things she wanted to hear and things she had to know, but this was different.
This was her and Rory learning what they left their only child to. The only one they were ever going to have. They got to finally understand what made River the woman she was. Terrifying and mysterious and really, really cool.
Mels wasn't the mystery. She got to grow with her. It was something, but it wasn't enough. There was only so much guilt Amy thought she could give up. Only so much she let herself talk about without wanting to hide and Amelia Pond never hid from anything.
So, yeah, that she was more or less hiding in wait for Rory to come home or for River to find her said more than words could ever hope to explain.
