The chuckle was definitely much needed. Helena hadn't so much as cracked a smile lately unless it was when she was interacting with Emily. Typhoid Mary was meaningless to Helena as that had been after she'd been Bronzed, but it was still an amusing tale. "Part of me wishes I'd been witness to see Claudia's face when she thought you were flirting with her, and again at the realization that you are gay."
Helena looked at him an arched an eyebrow briefly. "Always a cat," she said, shaking her head a bit. "The whole karmic cycle of coming back as a lower life form to teach one a lesson and try to build up good karma again?" She sipped her tea. "I think that caught up with me earlier in my stay here. Did I ever tell you I was turned into a lynx for a day?" A wild cat wasn't the same as a house cat, but it was still a cat. "Though it is refreshing to hear that you're a Buddhist. I'm more of a believer in one's own being, but I like some aspects of Buddhism."
Nodding a bit, Helena tucked a leg under her. Looking at Steve, when he said she was a good person, she wasn't sure how to respond to that. After all, she'd done many terrible things in her life, but she also had done some good things. But in her mind, the bad ones far outweighed the good ones. "I'm trying to be a good person. I just think my bad karma is catching up with me."
