The case had begun as all their cases began with a ping. After receiving the information from Artie they were on the first flight to Toronto. In the back of her mind were Pete's remarks about her sister being pregnant. She'd been truthful when she said that she wasn't jealous. Children were not part of her current to do list. No, Myka was just excited for his sister as she knew that this was something that Tracy had wanted. Tracy's pregnancy gave her the option to be an aunt and hold a new life without the added stress of motherhood.

From the moment they landed in Toronto the case was proving difficult to solve. They'd concluded that Mike wasn't using an artifact to heal himself and to keep playing. Next they struck out with the owner. Pete's exasperated statement about thousands of suspects ringing loud and clear in her mind. Whatever artifact was being used it was a fan who only attended the home games that had it. Their solution involved a raffle where they kept all the fans in one section and hopefully they'd spot the artifact and could bag it. Part of Myka wanted to prolong the case because despite their initial hostility she was finding Mike kind of charming. Though she wasn't going to give Pete anymore ammunition to tease her with. What little he had was annoying enough. When Mike had mentioned a kiss for good luck she hadn't seen the harm but no sooner had she done so than did she feel a twinge in her body.

Horrified, frightened and uncomfortable. Those were what she felt when she called Pete to meet her in the ladies room. All of a sudden she had found herself very pregnant. Her bra was cutting off the circulation and it wasn't until Pete had given her the hockey jersey that she breathed a sigh of relief. With the jersey now covering her she could remove her bra and breathe as easily as her newfound condition allowed. Artie's suggestion of it being a wish artifact send her hormones that were all ready in overdrive even more so. Her track record with wish artifacts was not the greatest. And though she loved her ferret now, at the time she had been a little disgruntled to have one dropped on her.

The hormones coursing through her body didn't even allow for her to be slightly angry at Pete for making a wish. If she thought of the reasoning for Pete's wish tears came to her eyes. Crying was not something that she liked to do in public, let alone at all. Once they had determined that it was Judy who was in possession of the artifact on her key chain they set off for her apartment. She'd ignored Pete's protests when she began eating his burrito. The cravings had not been satisfied with just one, so she'd began to tear into the second. Once inside they'd found out just how obsessed Judy was with Mike. Myka had shuddered and gone off to use the bathroom. Another downside to the damn artifact induced pregnancy. The baby was consistently sitting on her bladder. When she returned she mentioned how Judy wasn't coming back as drawers had been emptied and the bathroom was devoid of products. Walking she sat down in the armchair thinking about crazy obsessed fans. Her feet were aching and Pete could continue to look around the room. Something had to tell them where Judy was and where she'd taken Mike. As her body went to sit down she felt a shift in her equilibrium and found herself lying on her back on the ground. Turning her head she noticed grass and tried to sit up. Her stomach felt slightly smaller than it had a moment ago but movement was still hard.

Hearing someone approaching she called out for help. First, she needed to be upright again because lying on her back was not the way in which she wanted to get answers. Second, was finding out what the hell had happened and where she was. Because the whole situation smelled artifact related and that was something she was not in the mood for. One encounter with an artifact was enough but two in one day...

This was fast becoming a pattern, and Helena was silently cursing the Seal. This was too much of a change, and it was more than a struggle to keep herself held together. Digging in her heels, so to speak, Helena did her best to keep herself composed on focused on what she needed to do. Which was explain this place to Myka. At least she could do that. It was a subject she could handle. But she was not having the conversation of what happened in their world as Helena knew it. She'd all ready had to give that talk to Claudia and it had been one of the most difficult conversations she'd had to have.

Hiding her emotions deep within herself, Helena took a steadying breath, knowing this was probably going to be a little difficult for Myka to take in. At least the younger woman was used to strange, so it wouldn't exactly be a stretch of the imagination as to the how she was here. But the Apocalypse was something else altogether. "The short answer is that the Apocalypse as is described in the book of Revelation is happening here. Lucifer is caged, sort of, and there are Seals that keep him locked, but they are being broken. One of those Seals brings people here from other worlds, other realities. We don't exactly know how or why, but the general consensus is that we all have some part to play in this war." And that was the short answer. Helena could go into detail on the matter, but only would if Myka pressed the topic.

"Yes, November. It pulls people here from all various times and places. Some are from the distant past, others the distant future. And people from the same world can be pulled from different points in time." Though as she saw Myka sway a bit, Helena glanced over and saw a bench. "Here, you should sit down." Moving, she guided Myka over to sit down, knowing she'd need to after hearing what she just had. Once Myka was seated, Helena brushed a hand through her hair and sat down on the bench, forcing herself to stay focused on the task at hand.

"The greatest danger here are demons, Lucifer's army. They can possess people." Which prompted Helena to remember the amulet she wore around her neck, accompanying her locket. Reaching up, she unclasped the amulet and took it off, turning to Myka. "This will protect you from possession." And without even waiting for Myka to accept or deny it, Helena leaned forward and put it around Myka's neck. The last thing she wanted was for a pregnant Myka to get possessed while she was trying to explain things. Once the amulet was in place, Helena sat back, determined to not let Myka give it back. Helena's concern was Myka and her child. She was going to guess that she wasn't in this Myka's good graces, so she hoped this would be the first of many steps to take to prove she wasn't insane or trying to destroy the world.

Myka listened intently. None of it made any sense but she would hear out Helena's explanation. With the mention of Lucifer and Seals she grew more confused. When it came to the Christian bible it was one book that she was unfamiliar with. Sure, there were some things that she would recall but overall, Myka was at a loss. In any case a Seal that transported them all here from other realities and an Apocalypse were issues that built up a panic within her. She failed to see how being as heavily pregnant as she was would help in this war. Her body was not in the prime condition to do any sort of fighting.

The more she learned about the Seal the more of a headache was forming. As the Victorian woman led her over to a bench, Myka went willingly. The dizziness and nausea coupled with the news she had just received taking its toll on her body. Once she was seated she took a few deep breaths and then observed the older woman some more. Try as hard as she might to hide it, Myka could see the worry and pain hidden beneath the mask and it made her wonder just what Helena had been through. Had she been here long? At what point in time had she been brought here by the Seal. Question after question flew through her mind. Her body so weary from the sudden pregnancy that she had no intention of asking them all at once.

As Helena took off the amulet and placed it around her neck, Myka listened to what its purpose was. For just the briefest of moments her body had betrayed her and a slight gasp escaped. Even though she was upset with the Victorian woman, her proximity to her body served to elicit the reactions it normal had. And with the pregnancy hormones flowing throughout her body even the slightest touch was magnified. Her one hand rested on her stomach while the other went up to finger the amulet. "This will protect me from possession...It doesn't work like an artifact does it? Because if it does, there must be something else. It's an artifacts fault that I'm in my current state and I'd rather avoid anything further." Myka said rambling until she trailed off. She was quite serious though. For the time being she'd had enough of artifacts causing mischief that affected her.

After a few moments pause, Myka took note that Helena didn't have an amulet currently on her. If it did what the Victorian woman said it did then she wanted her to have it back. As angry as she was if anything happened to the older woman she would never forgive herself. "Your not wearing one. If it protects you shouldn't you be wearing one as well. Take it back..."

The Victorian woman was more than fully aware that explaining the Seal and the Apocalypse seemed like lunacy, but wasn't that what Warehouse agents knew to be "normal" in their world? Artifacts never were sane or able to be easily defined in some situations. But of course, demons trying to kill everyone was a bit harder to take than the usual explanation that an artifact had done this. Still, Helena would delve into as much detail as needed before Myka accepted things.

Myka most likely didn't actually want to know the things Helena had been through here. There would be a time when Helena would tell her, but that was not now. So Helena was trying to keep those pains and agonies, the near-death experiences silent. And in doing so, it really was killing her inside and breaking her all the more. Helena truly wondered just how much more she could possibly break because she hadn't been whole to begin with. Sooner or later, she would get to a point where she would break and she couldn't put herself back together. The more pieces broke, the smaller they got, and eventually you could no longer glue something back together. Helena was currently worried that this was that time for her. The fact that Myka didn't know what Helena had been through in this world and that she was from her future in their world was enough to break her again.

The reaction Myka had to the brief touch as she put the amulet around her neck did not elicit the usual response from her. In fact, it only served to break her heart further, and it made it that much more difficult to keep a hold of her emotions. Though when Myka revealed her pregnancy was caused by an artifact, Helena blinked and glanced at her stomach, then back up, one eyebrow slightly arched. "An artifact is responsible for your pregnancy?" That was a new one. "And no, the amulet is magic, not an artifact. I've worn that amulet for nine months without any ill effect, so you're safe." And with that, she answered a question Myka hadn't asked yet of how long she'd been here.

Brushing a hand through her hair and tucking some behind her ear, Helena drew in a slow, deep breath. When Myka tried to insist she take it back, Helena shook her head. "No, it's more important that you and your child are protected. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. I will get another amulet later." Which inadvertently revealed two things to Myka. One being that Helena really didn't care what happened to herself currently. She was at her breaking point and was ready to just give up. She'd been subjected to too many changes in a very short amount of time, and she was having trouble catching up. The second thing was that she cared about Myka, though she knew the younger woman wouldn't understand just how deep that care went, but that didn't matter. All that mattered was keeping Myka safe.
