Friends like Epiphany? Buffy wanted to say, but she didn't. She wasn't Spike's girlfriend. She didn't have any room to be acting jealous even though she so completely was. "No, friends are good," she said with a small smile. "I'm glad you have new friends." It just makes me feel like you don't need me anymore.

Buffy didn't move when Spike got up out of his chair. She just watched him as he approached her. She felt like he was in her personal space, but she kind of wanted him there so she didn't take a step back. She just looked up at him as he spoke. He was right too. They had made the entire situation so complicated. Or maybe Buffy had. It was hard to tell. She wasn't exactly the easiest person to get along with these days, but Spike had always been the one person who really understood her.

"Do you remember what you told me the night before you..." she hesitated. His sacrifice for her was kind of a big deal. She didn't take it lightly. "... the night before you died? And do you remember just holding me like we were the only two people left in the world?"
