Buffy and Spike had both come to the same conclusion about their relationship. Buffy had a hard time relating to anyone who wasn't Spike and Spike was obsessively in love with her. All they could ever do was hurt each other. All of that hope that Buffy had for a new life, a better life after Sunnydale went away when she arrived in Lawrence. She was just back at square one. She didn't see the light at the end of the tunnel anymore and all of the old feelings of having to separate herself from everyone she loved were back. She wasn't sure she was ever going to be able to get past her superiority complex now. Or the pesky inferiority complex that went along with it. All she really knew was that the only person she ever wanted to spend time with was Spike... no matter what they had said. She wasn't so sure it was because she wanted him to hurt her anymore though. It felt different. After everything, it felt different.
"Hey," Buffy replied with a small smile when Spike opened the door. "Are you alone? Can I come in?" Yeah, she'd seen Spike flirting with Epiphany on the network. She was starting to get a little better at the computer since she arrived in Lawrence and come across a couple of posts between them. She didn't want to admit it, but it made her jealous that they'd been spending time together. Hopefully she wasn't in his room though. She wasn't sure she could handle that.
