Uriel wasn't surprised to find that Ruby sounded like a delusional little...what did the mortals call it? Ah. Fangirl. She was so blinded by the idea of being rewarded that she didn't see the brutal reality of the situation. Sam Winchester would accomplish what he was destined for. But, for the Winchester, he would not end up being anywhere but on the shorter end of the stick when the time came for his brother to rise. It would be an honor to aid in Lucifer's return, but beyond that Uriel did not envy his position one bit. Not that he would ever tell someone as simple-minded as Ruby the truth. She was playing right into their hands; the angels could use all the pawns that they could get, even if it was one as pathetic and stupid as the dirty demon standing before him.
"We knew about him," Uriel corrected her, "but he did not know much about our existence in the matter. As far as Azazel was concerned, we were the enemy." He smirked at her. "I suppose, in a way, we still are. But we want the same things, do we not? We want for Sam Winchester to succeed. If you truly do intend on leading him along the right path, I will not stop you. In fact, I highly encourage your line of thinking. However, should you fail to do, then all will be lost. Lilith will not be destroyed. Lucifer will not be free of Hell and this world will..." Continue to exist. "It will not stand a chance at improvement."
Uriel stepped around Ruby, circling her slowly. "So I suggest that you do not fail. Should you do so, then you and I will have a lot more problems than we do now."
