Given the fact that Svetlana really didn't understand the whole concept of artifacts even if she understood the premise of equal reactions for balance, it did make sense that Helena's comment about the sacrifice was taken as the blond had taken it. When people usually made comments like that, it was because they wanted to recognition and were missing the point. So the Russian woman merely nodded some to show she acknowledge she had misinterpreted what was being said, and taking in the situation. It.. might actually make sense to watch the show now that she had permission to do so. If only to understand the aspects of the world Helena was from so she could make better informed observations in terms of things said and done.
"Even if you do not know it there, that does not mean a situation will not arise at a later date where a similar action is necessary. I understand why it is upsetting, but nothing is absolute." Unless it was Svetlana's feelings but that came about from living in extremes. But even then, she knew that things could change. They didn't know every detail of the future, or any details depending on the situation and person. Still, from the sounds of it, the use of this artifact was exceedingly dangerous. But she knew Myka. She couldn't believe that the woman would let something like that be used unless there truly was no other option. It was a tricky situation and again something she might have to view and not just hear one side to it, no matter how rational it might seem.
Hearing the comment about a path ahead but being uncertain on how to live it, Svetlana gave a faint smile.
"Part of living is learning. There is no manual, no guide. It is a day by day process, but you have both friends and Emily to help you."
Standing up, the blond gathered the glasses and went to wash them. With Helena seeming more rational now, Svetlana figured that they would just play a game of chess. It would pass the time for a bit until she had to go pick the girls up from school and give Helena something to focus on as well.
