Helena caught the brow quirk in response to the look she'd given her. Though in Helena's mind, she was more thinking of when she had to tell Irene about everything, not when she'd told Moriarty how she'd killed the men that killed her daughter. And it was that precise point in time about telling Irene the details of her past that was a sticking point for the Victorian woman. Irene had asked Myka for the details instead of asking her when Helena had opened the door on that conversation, opened the door for Irene to come in. And the fact that Irene had gone to Myka instead still stung Helena today. She was not one to open up about her unsavory past so easily, and she was more likely to slowly peel back the layers than to simply reveal everything in one go, but when she broached the subject, she fully expected people to to ask her about it, to listen to her. This was precisely why Helena doubted the fact she could ever have a lover that didn't underestimate her in some way. It was rather the running theme of her past lovers.
It had been so very difficult for her to unwind from Moriarty, from his reign of terror over her own life, and while she was finally no longer looking over her shoulder expecting a sniper to be there or someone who worked for Moriarty to be there and finish the job, she was still trying to let go of the things that she'd been put through during that time. It was just largely the emotional toll she was still holding on to because Helena was a master at holding onto her emotions for far longer than she should. And now with Myka gone, that left only Claudia who knew everything she'd been through at home and here first hand. Svetlana knew as well, but only from being told about Helena's world, which was more often than not difficult to explain.
At Svetlana's assessment of what she'd said, she nodded. "Letting go of my emotions is not exactly something I know how to do. That is why they build up and, in the end, control me, be it for better or for worse." Brushing a hand through her hair, she drew in a breath. "Out of anger and hate, I nearly destroyed the world. Out of love, I gave up my own life to save the one I love. A sacrifice that in the future in my world is meaningless because an artifact was used to alter that course of events." Which was what was one of Helena's more pressing issues currently. Ever since she had deduced that Magellan's Astrolabe had been used, she'd wished Claudia had never told her enough to lead to that conclusion. Though what Helena was upset about was the artifact itself, not the fact that she was alive in an altered future. She knew the perils of time travel artifacts all too well and that worry was evident on her face. Though even saying that, Helena knew Svetlana couldn't exactly completely understand without seeing the television show, without knowing how things in her world worked.
"I know explaining things from my world can be complicated, so if you want to, you can watch the television show I am from." Making that statement was both difficult and easy. She knew Svetlana wouldn't torment her with the things from the show, but Helena had a very deep aversion to it due to Moriarty having used it to torment her. And she also knew the best way for Svetlana to understand everything would be to see it. When it came down to it, Helena's point of view was only one side of the story. "Also if you do watch it, do not tell me details of what happened after my death. I all ready know a piece of what happens and I wish I didn't."
