Another dead end. Another lead that went down the road to nowhere. If Lois didn't know better she would almost think someone was deliberately giving her false leads to chase down, but she wasn't that paranoid yet. A few dead ends didn't mean a case of deliberate sabotage. Most likely it meant she was getting closer to figuring out the bigger picture, if only she could link all the smaller pieces of information together. She was probably just missing the one vital piece that was needed to do the appropriate linking.
But that didn't matter for the moment. She needed to get back to the Complex in one piece and hopefully not draw any unnecessary attention her way. It wouldn't have been difficult to do, she was nearly at the crossroads for the building when she spotted the peculiar sight of a young woman carrying a baby without any kind of coat for either of them. It was the bewildered look in the woman's eye, a telltale sign that she was one of the unlucky ones the Seal had decided to throw into the fray.
And with a baby.
The Seal sure knew how to pick them. Lois cautiously approached her, knowing most of what she had to say would be seen as crazy talk, but so was suddenly landing in the middle of an unfamiliar place.
