Smirking, Ruby finished her water and then put in for an actual drink. The talk of Storybrooke and who knew what else would probably make it necessary. She wasn't exactly one to drink to forget her troubles or as a means to enjoy herself as if that was all she needed, but sometimes she could tell when a drink might make a situation easier to handle. Talks. And if they kept on this happiness thing, Ruby wasn't so certain on what might come up. Because she did miss Granny. Oh, they fought all the time but she did still miss the older woman. She had a way of making things make sense. Of being there and taking care of her in ways the young woman never really realized until after the fact.
"Well, I'm sure that can change. Anything can, especially here."
Because Ashley had found love and happiness. And while Mary Margaret and David continued to have issues, Snow White and Prince Charming? Well, they were the stuff of stories that focused on true love, on happiness. Even if their world had been at war with the evil Queen. It was something Ruby envied but never voiced, because even if she couldn't have it, that didn't mean others couldn't.
"So. Beyond trying to adjust and not really having an idea on how, how are you doing?"
Because Ruby got uncomfortable when things turned to her too much, on her real feelings and not the flippant personality most people knew.
