haha, it happens
"Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm happy..." Smirking, Ruby took a drink of water. Really, what was happiness? True happiness that was. While everyone else paired up, she was the girl to the side, happy for her friends but a part of her yearning for that kind of connection for herself. And what she had read in Henry's books, she had been the one to ruin that chance of happiness. What Peter had tried to talk to her about that she refused to discuss even as she got used to his ghost being around. True love, true happiness, it seemed so foreign, even as she was always upbeat and going out of her way to flirt with anyone who caught her eye, even as she stood by her friends regardless of what the rest of the public thought.
Was she happy? She was content, sure. She was able to go about her life and she had friends. And now that the others were showing up, she was feeling more at ease even though she wondered if she would ever truly remember and not just go off of everything by hearsay. Storybooks and a television show and dream fragments.
Though that did sometimes lead Ruby to wonder, if her desire to get out of Storybrooke and search for adventure was because of Red. Because Storybrooke was a far cry from the land they all had lived in before even if she couldn't recall it. But that would require Ruby to actively seek her memories and accept Red as part of her and that was still too daunting a task in the twenty one year old's mind.
"Of course you will. I have no doubt about that at all."
And she didn't. They all would find their way here. Especially those more used to the supernatural and fairytales.
