He could be so very kind when he wanted to. When he wasn't thinking about it, she supposed. The instinct was there within him, and he showed it to her perhaps more than anyone else in this world. She wished people could know that side but she knew too that he'd never show it. She wasn't naieve enough to think she'd fallen for the perfect man. She didn't have a Prince or a hero, she had the Dark One. She'd only fallen in love with him after being the subject of a deal. After he took her from her home. Oh part of her had wanted to go, to be the hero women just didn't get to be. To have adventures. And love had found her. Unexpectedly and simply enough with a dark room and thick curtains that had so bothered her.
"I think I'm going to like it here." she told him as she leaned down to lie on the bed still keeping him with her as she did and mindful of hurting his leg as she did so. It was still strange sometimes that he had such an ailment. He never had back home. But then she supposed that was his magic. Or perhaps the curse. But they were without the curse here.
She laughed at the comment about her losing sleep. Sleep had meant so little for so long other than an escape from her miserable life in that cell. Time she didn't have to wonder who she was and why she was there. What she'd done to deserve it. But with him she knew she'd sleep. She knew she felt safe for the first time in such a long time, weird as that sounded.
"The first of many adventures." she said sleepily, accompanying it with a soft kiss. "I love you Rumplestilskin. I always will."
