Everything was panning out just as he'd planned. Finding his son in the world without magic hadn't worked, which was the precise reason he'd built in the loophole into the Dark Curse in the event he needed magic back. Though one could argue he'd put it there because the power and magic had become so ingrained within him that he couldn't go without it. But oh he had tried the non magic route, and what had that gotten him? His son was still lost to him, so he now hoped that by bringing magic into the world without it, he'd be able to finally locate his son.
So without hesitation, he'd dropped the true love potion into the well and purple smoke started wafting out of it. However, instead of being in Storybrooke, he suddenly found himself somewhere else. The well was gone, as was Belle. Frowning, Gold turned around, taking in his surroundings.
"Well, this isn't what I'd expected," he muttered to himself. He was clearly in a different city altogether. A park, no less. This wasn't part of his plan. The magic was supposed to come back into the world through the purple smoke, not transport him to a completely different place. Which left him with one thing to do, find out where he was and try to figure out how this had gone wrong. He'd made the Curse, he'd made the potion, he knew the effects both should have had and transporting him somewhere else? Not part of the effects of either. So he picked a direction and started walking, leaning on his cane as he did. Really, he hadn't liked the fact he'd gone back to being a cripple because of the Curse, but there was nothing he could do about that. Not yet, anyway.
