At the question, she opened her eyes again to look up at him, then nodded, grateful that he understood, and was willing to deal with the remnants of her interrupted bath for her. She was definitely going to be sticking to showers for a while. Lifting a hand, she rested it on his cheek for a moment, then gave a faint, sad smile.
"I think you're right. But...I'm okay with that, for tonight." Leaning in, she brushed her lips softly across his, then dropped her hand and stepped back and around him towards the door. Tugging her robe off the hook, she dropped her towel in a corner, then pulled the robe on before pushing a few damp strands back from her face to look over her shoulder at him.
"Don't take too long?" She smiled again, a little more genuinely this time, then stepped out of the bathroom and headed for the living room to curl up on the couch and watch her aquarium while she waited for Pete to finish and join her.
