When a person gets used to something, it's hard to change the routine and the ways they get set in. Darcy had gotten a little too comfortable with having Loki around, probably. Maybe that was a big part of why she had missed him so much while he'd been avoiding her. She understood that he hadn't done it to hurt her, but at the same time it was hard not to miss someone that you are with constantly, especially when suddenly they're just not there and you love them so much. Darcy didn't really know what to do with herself when Loki just wasn't around. Maybe that was a little bit of a dependency issue too. Ever since the nightmare fiasco....well, she hadn't been quite as independent as she thought she had been before. Maybe it was for a good reason, though.
Either way Darcy was glad this entire ghost fiasco was done. She'd missed Loki and she'd missed a lot of the normal things that went on on a day to day basis. She didn't have to worry about Needy now that Jennifer was gone too, which definitely made things a lot easier. Needy couldn't die, but she could really get herself pretty banged up, which was still pretty scary in Darcy's opinion.
It was weird being the weakest link in her little chain of people, actually. More and more lately Darcy had been hating that others had to protect her from things. She couldn't protect herself from a good number of things, of course, but it didn't feel nice. She didn't exactly want to be a damsel, or so fragile in the eyes of others. There wasn't anything she could do about it. She didn't have any intention of becoming super hunter chick. She was pretty sure that if she even entertained the idea Loki would have had some sort of spazz attack. And as fun as it could be to see him react to some things she didn't want to hurt him. She didn't want to scare him like that.
Now that things were back to normal it was nice to be with the man, or rather god would be more appropriate, that she loved. It wasn't even that she missed him taking her places or that she missed the attention. She had just missed his presence. there was something about him being there that made her feel protected and she just felt good knowing that he was there. Not that she didn't like the attention too.
As social as Darcy was, quiet moments like this were nice. The scenery was beautiful, she was warm, and she really just had everything that she needed. As Loki secured the cloak she couldn't help the small smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. There was a bit of a flirty glint in her eye, perhaps, but it was nice to have him so close again. She couldn't resist reaching up, the palm of her hand resting on the right side of his face, against his cheek. "Missed you." She told him unashamed of admitting that. "Penny for your thoughts? What's on that mind of your's?" There was always something going on in that brain of his. That was something Darcy had come to understand. She understood him pretty well by now, maybe not perfectly, but pretty well.
