“Fancy,” she said, grinning at him, gently turning the meatballs before turning to fully look at him, giving him a tiny nudge with the spatula handle. “I'll have to introduce you to a larger taste,” she said as a joke, giving him a wide, bright grin, so at odd with the girl who broke down minutes before.
But it was obvious she wasn't hiding, the sadness still on the edges of her expression, but put aside for the moment, so they could move on without breaking down, if only for a little while. “Right, so you like Aunt May's meatloaf, burgers and fries...a big meat eater there?”
