There was no doubt in Percy's mind that he was currently in over his head. So much about this world was all ready different from the world he knew. And even with the threads of similarities, it wasn't anywhere near enough to keep his head from spinning all ready with thoughts of what was in store for them here. There was obviously so much he had to learn, and he would readily learn it, but he wanted to learn it in increments that he could take without being overloaded. And right now, Percy was at the point of having information overload. Even he had a limit to what he could handle. So he stopped asking questions so his mind could properly digest the things Marguerite had all ready told him.
He fell silent, drinking the rest of his glass of wine in thought. After a minute, he closed his eyes and drew in a breath before he opened them and looked at his wife. "It seems there is much to learn and much to adjust to in this world." As if traveling through time and being in a completely different country wasn't enough, there was the whole Apocalypse thing.
Once he'd gotten his head around these things, he would turn to learning what he could about how to fight this war here. It was obvious not the type of war he was used to fighting, but Percy knew he could lend his aide here somehow. He just needed to find out just how that would be. The Englishman had several skills, but he doubted that subterfuge would help win this war. Well, perhaps in some cases it could help, but definitely not as the first option in the fight. He would most certainly need to keep his fighting skills sharp. And possibly learn how to use whatever weapons were used in this war. He didn't think swords were the main weapon of choice in this fight.
Setting his empty glass on the table, he leaned back in his seat. However this fight may go, at least he had Marguerite there with him. Together, they could do this. With her there, Percy could make it through this rather daunting and confusing stage of transition he was finding himself in.
