While Marguerite really did prefer face to face talking, finding people here could be difficult and well, the computer was much faster than courier. So it did make sense to use. She had one of those mobile phones though she almost never used it and really it was for rehearsal things and that was about it. Despite her attempts to adjust more to this time, the mobile phone was something she was still getting used to. The computer at least made sense because it was the first thing she had been shown and it got in touch with many people at once and was a means of information. So she didn't mind it too much when she did get around to using it.
Still, at least Percy was going to talk to Booth. She didn't know if they'd end up in the same group or not though she still would like to know when her group was so she could make sure it worked with her rehearsal schedule and if not, have enough time to inform her director that something came up and to try to work things out that way.
Marguerite was prepared to explain the salt circle, but then Percy was asking about her neck and all she could do was blink in confusion. Mostly because she could have sworn she'd used foundation and a choker to cover the attack from the previous night. Chauvelin had been getting worse, and even though she knew he couldn't kill her, well, he could have ruined her life if he had done permanent damage to her vocal chords. But that was what iron pokers and salt were for. But right. The choker had been bothering her and so she had taken it off after rehearsal. It was the decorative wrist band that kept that bruise from being visible still.
As Percy inspected her neck, she looked to the side, noticing that he was still there. Honestly, the ghosts had done their damage, had made their point, why were they still here? What time was it anyway?
"There is presently a ghost problem. It seems that Chauvelin was determined to see me and make me pay for betraying him and other such nonsense."
She was flippant about it because she had to be. Because she couldn't let Chauvelin know that she was upset by it and she couldn't worry Percy more when he had so much to take in right now as it were.
"And try as they might, it appears that ghosts aren't actually allowed to kill us or interact with anyone beyond the person they are haunting. Salt and iron work to protect us from them."
There just were times when salt and iron weren't on one's person. Though maybe she should look into that iron table solution that people had been using for the more dangerous ghosts. So placing her hand under her husband's chin to make him look at her, she gave a faint smile.
"Really, Percy. I'm fine. No serious damage was done." No need to explain that she had suffered worse during her years as a free woman. He knew about that, yes, but well, not really something that needed to be brought up. Especially in this context.
