WHO: Lee and Lexi
WHAT: It’s a vampire true love reunion! Just imagine the epic musical score right now.
WHEN: This morning, just when the ghosts have left.
WHERE: Lexi’s room.
RATING: There’s swooning. And smooching.
STATUS: Log; COMPLETE

There had been tequila. And for a while there had been vodka, but for some reason vodka always hurt more. Not in the hangover sense, in the emotional one. Vodka, Russia, Lexi. That was his thought process, every time. Then again, of course, pretty much everything in his life somehow related back to his lost love. Someone might have thought that the pain of grief might have lessened in the two plus years since her death, but nope. It was still there, like a knife in his side every day. More than once he contemplated just letting go and seeing in the sunrise, before he could almost hear her snapping at him for even thinking that. What was death like for a vampire? Lee almost wanted to believe that in some way she was still there with him. Watching out for him. It was a nice thought. Hell, sometimes he could almost imagine seeing her.

It wasn’t exactly the first time Lee had woken up in a place he didn’t recognize, but he was reasonably sure he hadn’t gone to sleep in Kansas. It has definitely been a city. A big city. A big, loud city, one with enough noise to drown out some of his overly thinking thoughts. This? This was not loud. It was not busy enough.

Even though with how his head was hurting, any noise was too loud a noise. Lee groaned, blearily trying to bury his head in a pillow, to block out the light that was just peeking in through gaps in the curtains, and to block his nose from the reminder that he hadn’t actually showered in a while. The scent of stale alcohol still clung to him and even vampire healing couldn’t quite erase the shadows that didn’t just linger under his eyes but had seemed to take over his entire being.

She knew, she just knew she’d wake from that weird drifting sleep and Lee would be gone. Back to...wherever Death had picked him up from. He wasn’t dead, just one of the ‘abominations’ Death picked out. Just like her. Just like a lot of people it seemed. But god did she not want to have that moment where he vanished. She’d drifted into a fretful sleep eventually and had woken up time and time again in the night, to reassure herself of the ghostly presence. And this was no different. He was still there.

But something was...
He freaking reeked. Of tequila of all things. And there had been no tequila the night before. More to the point how was he still here, the clock on the wall told her it was hitting midday and the ghosts had gone. The ghosts had served their purpose so why was hers still here. And why was she questioning it.

“Babe, not that I’m not incredibly grateful you’re still here. But is it okay that you are? You’re not like...ripping Death a new one just to stay with me, cause while that’s adorable and very very manly of you I do not want you putting yourself at risk for me. I told you when you got here. You get the hell back there and enjoy life for as many centuries as you can. You see the things we were planning to see and maybe occasionally go slap Stefan if he’s being a moron. Live.”

She poked him in an attempt to wake him up and waited. He really had better not ignore her if he had done something stupid. Ghost or not she could still kick his ass if she had to.

Someone was poking him. Someone was actually poking him. Which meant someone was near him while he was sleeping which was obviously impossible. There had been no one since her. Could be no one without her.

And yet that voice. Lee looked up blearily, staring at the mass of blonde hair. “I’m dreaming still.” It seemed clear to him. She was telling him things because his subconscious was lecturing him in her voice. That was clearly it. But the dream felt real and he didn’t want it to go away. “Miss you so much.” The words came out mumbled, from the alcohol, from the grief. “Nice dream. Only Lexi I get now is dream Lexi.”

Who was apparently poking him. Lee raised his head from the pillow with a groan and a frown, blinking a few times. “Why is dream Lexi poking me? Dream Lexi isn’t supposed to poke me and glare at me. Bad dream Lexi. Still beautiful dream Lexi though. God, I miss you.”

Dream Lexi? Ghost Lee was weird. And smelled of Tequila, and had the beginnings of a beard that...

Lexi blinked once. Just once and leaned in a little closer to him.

“Lee? If I say Death, apocalypse and messages. You do know what I’m talking about right, actually screw it.” she said jumping up and grabbing Lee by the hand whether he liked it or not dragging him toward the kitchen. She rummaged in the various places she might have kept it and wondered for a terrifying moment if Stefan had taken it all. Barging into his room this early might possibly be considered weird.

Though actually for them it would have been fairly normal. Sometimes there was tackling and mocking.

Finally Finally she put her hand to what she wanted and proceeded to hurl a handful of salt at Lee’s chest. And waited holding in a breath she didn’t need and hadn’t needed in centuries. And nothing happened. Not a thing happened. It was him. It was him it was Lee and she jumped into his arms still without a further word. The Seal had come through in the biggest way possible and she was pretty sure if she could find it she would hug it.

Two minutes of frantic kisses later though she figured she should probably try explain things.

Parallel world, fighting apocalypse, came back from the dead, Lucifer, demons, there were ghosts and a ghost you but agh...reasons! Doesn’t matter, you’re here!” she finally finished, still beaming. It was possible she wouldn’t stop. Like ever.

Dreams were not supposed to be this energetic. Gradually it just started to sink into Lee’s brain that maybe, just maybe, this was real. He had absolutely no idea what she was talking about and then there was dragging, actual physical dragging and, okay, salt being thrown at him.

He blinked. And blinked again. And a third time, just for good measure.

She was still standing there. She was real.

When she jumped into his arms, all Lee could do was hold her, hold her so very very tightly because this was Lexi, his Lexi and she was alive and here and he was very very grateful that he didn’t need to breathe because kissing, lots of kissing now. His beautiful, amazing Lexi.

He tried to follow the explanation, which all sounded really insane and finally he just stared at her. “Parallel... Lucifer.. whatever, you’re here. You’re here and I’m here and I missed you so much and...” Words, words were hard, words didn’t quite have all the meaning he needed to express, so he pulled her face close again and kissed her more, pouring all the emotion into it, everything he was feeling for her. Eventually he broke away with a laugh, though he kept his forehead pressed against hers. “It’s entirely possible that I’m never going to let you go.” Now that she was back in his arms, Lee had no intention of letting her leave his life again. “I love you, I love you so much, Lex.”

Okay screw the bitching about the Seal. Sure it could do horrible things but it had given her Lee. He was here, and every second he was here and she was here was time they couldn’t have back home. Every minute was borrowed so she intended to enjoy it, and if he didn’t want to let her go then he didn’t have to just yet. Eventually though her ribs would probably insist on it. “Lee, honey, I’m here and tangible and not going anywhere. And sorry about the salt but there was a thing with a ghost you and I had to know if you were ghost you or you-you.” she told him with a bit more coherence than she’d previously been able to muster. And that was it apparently, for the coherency. She giggled, more out of sheer happy than anything else. She’d have to show him off, introduce him to her friends, oh Peter would love him. And Stefan, would get all ‘Oh no I’m a third wheel and want to move out. So there’d be slapping him obviously, and more showing off. And knowing Lee he’d join in the war because it was the right thing to do just as she had. And she’d keep him here by sheer power of stubborn.

The Seal did not wanna mess with her on this one.

“You probably have questions.” she asked, admittedly between yet more kisses. This was becoming a theme really. “The why’s and how’s, and you’ll care about those eventually I know you. But for now, its really me, its really you and not a damn thing is going to change that for as long as I can help it.”

She giggled again.

“Oh, and love you too, like I need to even say. Even if you do smell. The modern world does have this amazing thing called a power shower. So does this apartment! Juuust saying!”

Coherency was overrated. Honestly, Lee was not bothered by the actual details, even if there was still grains of salt sticking to his shirt. “Need to throw any pepper at me or are you convinced I’m the real deal?” Now that the shock of things was starting to, well not wear off but become more accepted, he was able to match her with the giggling, a huge grin lighting up his face. So many times he had prayed, just in case there was a god who listened to vampires, to have even one more night with his love, and now she was here, in his arms and giggling at him with that laugh and kissing him. Really, the kissing. Memories had not been enough for just how good her kissing was.

“Eventually,” he agreed with a smirk. “Eventually we’ll go through all the details and you’ll tell me everything but right now? Basking. Just basking.” Because that smile of hers was brighter than sunlight.

“Oh I see how it is, you get me here for mere minutes and already you want to drag me into the shower. A hot, steamy shower.” A glint appeared in his eyes, a new sense of life that had been missing for years now as, of course, his mind went straight to a very naughty place. So, with a dramatic wave of his arms, Lee literally swept Lexi off her feet, holding her like a classic movie heroine. “Then, my love, take me to this amazing power shower. Because I’m only getting in there if you’re joining me.” Not that she’d need any persuasion, he knew her too well. And for good measure, he leaned down and kissed her again.
