She was telepathic? For someone who was so used to being exposed to people with special abilities, Clark couldn't avoid feeling stunned. It was stupid, really; most of the people that turned up here were different. The chances of her not being able to do something special herself - well, there were the few who did lack in abilities, but with the way that she had been behaving? Clark was surprised that he hadn't immediately reached a conclusion like that one. After all, he had been around telepathic people before. He knew what the signs of a person being one were. But, at the same time, Clark wasn't telepathic himself. He couldn't have magically figured it out without verification.
"Oh." Clark shoved his hands into his pockets, looking slightly thrown off. "I...that's..." He shook his head, then actually let out a slight laugh. "That's actually not too surprising. We have a lot of people around who can do...things. Uh..." Clark peered over his shoulder anxiously. They were still fairly alone. That meant conversation like this was pretty safe to have right now. "It's okay. I guess...the last person I met. Like you. He couldn't hear me."
Could he run fast? Clark felt odd about being in the open about it still. He wasn't going to get used to people knowing. Not in huge numbers like they seemed to at the apartments. But there was no use in hiding it, was there? "Yes," Clark confirmed, "I can."
