Peter & Ghost!Uncle Ben
Mentions of events from Friday, but mostly set Saturday afternoon; Peter's apartment at the complex
After avoiding him for an entire day, Peter decides maybe he should actually talk to his Uncle Ben's Seal-delivered ghost. Short and sweet lil narrative.
PG/Narrative/Complete

A ghost of you is all that I have left, it's all that I have left of you...

Waking up the previous morning to find his Uncle Ben in the living room of his apartment had really shaken Peter. A lot. He was convinced it was just in his head at first, or maybe a sort of waking dream. That was the only thing that really made sense, right? He passed by the couch and headed into the kitchen to get a glass of water. He glanced back of his shoulder into he livingroom. Nothing, it was empty. Peter nearly jumped out of his skin when Uncle Ben was there when he turned to get the glass from the cabinet. "Great. Like I don't have enough going on, I'm losing my mind while I'm at it." He shook his hed and continued in his task of getting a glass of water.

"You're not going insane, Peter." The words were simple and spoken softly, but that didn't stop Peter from nearly choking on his water. He shook his head again, "Look, I don't know what or, or you are, but taking the form of my dead uncle is really not a fair way to play and, and I would really just like you to just...leave me alone." With that, Peter set the glass down on the counter and headed back to the bedroom. Maybe if he went back to sleep, this would all be over when he woke up again.

That was yesterday. The rest of his day had been spent trying his damndest to avoid and run away from the ghost of his uncle, but no matter what he did, where he went, he couldn't escape him. It was unnerving. It was more than he could find a way to handle. Even with the evidence that he wasn't the only one with someone who wasn't really here all across the boards, Peter still wasn't sure what to make out of it. Apparently, it was the Seal, but that just made it even harder to deal with because he couldn't do anything about it, only when the Seal decided to change things, would they go back to the way they should.

Peter let out a soft sigh as he dropped down onto the couch in the living room. He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the couch.

"Peter," the voice came from his right, and he didn't have to open his eyes to know the source. He'd know that voice anywhere.

"Not now...please..." he whispered, chewing on his lower lip, eyes still squeezed tightly shut. He didn't want to see him. He didn't want to do this. He couldn't do this.

"Open your eyes, son." Ben said, that hint of authority mixed with just a certain amount of concern made it nearly impossible for Peter not to listen, no matter how much he didn't want to.

He sighed and finally opened his eyes to look at his uncle. "I can't--"

"You can, Peter," he assured him before going on to add, "and you have to because I'm going to be here for a little while." He reached over and put a hand on Peter's shoulder.

Tears sprang nearly immediately to his eyes with that simple contact. "I miss you, Uncle Ben, so much..." he hesitated for the smallest fraction of a second before he leaned over and hugged the older man. Peter didn't even care that if anyone else were to come onto the scene at that moment that it would look like he was hugging nothing but air. He just wanted the familiar feel of that hug, even if it wasn't exactly the same.
