Just feeling his arms around her made her instantly feel safer. Not that she really believed that could save her. Or him. This wasn't the dangers of home they were looking at. This Seal, it could strike at any time. And that was terrifying. Demons she knew how to deal with now. She could fight humans without thinking twice. But something that powerful that no one had any control over? That was more than a bit frightening.
She leaned into his hold, gripping the front of his shirt as if that would keep him from being torn from her. "It wasn't only me," she reminded him, closing her eyes and breathing him in. "You lost people, too. I'm so sorry." Her head fit perfectly under his chin and she nestled there, trying to find some peace in just allowing him to hold her. No fighting, no snipping at each other over ridiculous things, just the two of them being where they were meant to.
With a deep breath, she pulled back enough to look up at him with a brave face. "We're not alone, still. We have others here. We'll be all right."
