He was wide awake, staring up at the ceiling. He'd thought briefly about surfing the boards on his phone, but decided not to. He didn't want to deal with anyone right then, and he was also slightly worried that the women in his life would be upset with him. Though he was already feeling better physically--his ribs weren't hurting as much, for one, he knew it was going to take some time to heal.
He heard Chloe mumbled something in her sleep and he turned his head to look at her, frowning a little as she moved restlessly beside him. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly, laying his good hand lightly on her arm. "Hey," he said quietly, not wanting to startle her.
