“Well, I’m not saying it will happen for sure, but last Christmas I got a wish.” Damon remembered that wish. He’d had the Christmas bauble decorate his spare bedroom so that it would be identical to Elena’s bedroom in Mystic Falls. It had been empty for such a long time, but he kept the decorations the same.
“Is it so hard to believe that someone might want to do something helpful completely free of charge?” He raised his eyebrows slightly. Truthfully, Damon could absolutely understand where Enigma’s doubt came from. Had they switched places he knew that he would be asking the same questions. There were very few truly good people left in the world. Everyone else was selfish and manipulative. Damon had once counted himself as the latter, but he was trying to be better. It was the people he cared about who had inspired this change in character..
“Good move,” Damon nodded in response to the remark relating to Twilight. “It’s better kindling than it is literature. I knew a girl who idolized Bella, though. Scary stuff.” He winced jokingly, choosing to make the joke instead of owning up to being a gorgeous vampire.
