“You’re absolutely right.” He smiled brightly. “This is definitely not my scene.” Damon gave a quiet sigh and sat back slightly. Memories of the Mystic Grill came to mind. He’d missed sitting there, shamelessly flirting with the lonelier women of Mystic Falls. All that was only possible because of his anonymity. They weren’t aware that he was a vampire, or they hadn’t been at one point or another. Everything was so much easier when people believed they could really, genuinely trust him. Now? Not so much. He imagined Enigma might not be so keen on him once she learned who he really was. Until that happened, though, he’d decided that he would enjoy her company.
“It’s not so bad, though.” Damon shrugged his shoulders, giving the setting another look. It was far from being a five star establishment, but he maintained his pleasant expression. “The company’s good, the coffee isn’t poisoned...” He smirked slightly.
“And besides,” He looked her in the eyes. “You don’t seem so strange.” Now he was curious, though. It was his experience that, when someone chose ‘strange’ to describe their personality they were usually very interesting. Damon had nothing else to do, so why not learn all he could about the flattering newcomer?
