"Good," he said quietly, glancing down at her hand on his arm for a moment and drawing in a deep breath. "I know. It wasn't your fault. You were possessed." He chewed the inside of his cheek. At least the physical damage wasn't her fault. And he didn't really want to think about the rest right then. Mostly he just wanted to get out of there. Go home to his apartment. Take a shower. And sleep for a couple of days.
He shrugged a little, glancing up at her once more. "Did you lose your amulet?" he asked. His tone was questioning, but not accusing.
