Kon did love the dog actually, even if he did pretend Krypto was a giant pain in the ass. He had wished for him after all. After Clark had given him Krypto the two had bonded nearly instantly. He hadn't wanted the mutt at first, he was impossible to keep an eye on and had so much more energy then Kon wanted to spend on dog things, but he learned to compromise. Krypto needed him, and part of him needed that unconditional connection as well. No matter what was going on in his life, Krypto wouldn't judge him even if everyone else in the world did.
"The day I got Krypto actually, I'd cut school. I thought Clark was going to reem me for it, but he said he understood. He used to cut school too, but Mr. and Mrs. Kent would sign him out. I wish I'd thought of that." He shrugged a little and then nodded. "Yeah, she showed up for a while. She had cheerleading and stuff though so she couldn't stay too long." Kon rubbed Krypto's ears and the dog was beside himself with joy at all the attention.
"I tried. Luthor created me to be a weapon. That's all I was ever supposed to be, would be if Tim hadn't found me." That was his connection with the Boy Wonder. Tim had rescued him, given him a chance and freedom and a different life outside of Luthorcorp. "When they found me, I didn't have a name or anything. They just called me Experiment 13 or Superboy. But after Tim brought me to Clark he gave me my own name...After he got done denying I existed anyway. Sometimes, I kinda wish I didn't. Things would be easier for everyone." Kon hadn't asked to be created. He was fine with being a clone, but being a burden was something he would never be used to.
"Connor will help, he usually does." Kon shrugged and laid back on the ground, watching upside down as a few tiny cleaning bots swept past them in the hallway.
