"War and duty do have a way of keeping one from such things," she replied with a little nod. While she had no personal experience with war, Helena had an idea of what effects duty could take on one's life. Still, things could've been worse.
"London is rather a sight to behold. I have only been to modern London once for a brief period. It was still somewhat recognizable to me, but much of it was changed. If you are given the opportunity, you should return to England and see it, and not just London. I hope to return there one day." There was a heavy note of nostalgia in her voice. She did truly long for her home, for the land that had been familiar to her. But she would never be able to return there. The London she called home now only lived within her memory. She was still trying to call the modern world her home, but she would admit there were still days where she felt so terribly out of place within it.
The smile Robin got when he spoke of Marian belied his feelings for her, though Helena did not press the topic. She well knew what it was like to have someone familiar, someone you loved near you. "It does certainly help a great deal to have people you know around you to help ground you in such situations." At least this time around she knew Claudia, Myka and Pete. When she'd been deBronzed in her own world, the only familiar thing she'd had was the Warehouse. Everyone she had ever known was long dead. "It certainly is not an easy task to make such adjustments when you have no tether to the place you are in."
With that comment, their drinks arrived. Helena took hers with a smile and a word of thanks before she smiled to Robin. "I do hope you enjoy your tea."
