"Come in, Wes," she said softly. Inwardly, she was guarding her emotions as much as possible - after all, he was from before they became a...whatever they had become. It had been a relationship of some kind, and she'd known he'd had a dollar with her name on it to say that was so. Now, here, she had to put that aside, as much as she wanted to give into her emotions. After all, it was too late - she was dead, technically, though immortal at the same time. Back 'home' she'd simply go back to being a lapdog for the Partners. And he...well, there, he'd be heading up a division of the LA branch of Wolfram and Hart. She had, after all, personally offered it to the AI team on a silver platter, and they had accepted.

After seeing for herself on the DVDs, and checking out a few of the comics, what had become of them, Lilah knew better than anyone that they'd never should have taken the job. She wondered how Wes would feel to know he'd ultimately become no worse than her, a ghostly puppet of the firm. But for now, she had to focus on tonight and try to not focus on how damn attractive he still was in her eyes, even now.
