It was a mistake, agreeing to go over to see her. He should have refused to go over. Nothing good could come of this. Even though he didn't know much of his future back in LA, he knew that, somehow, he and Lilah had ended up together, and he had apparently had to cut off her head at some point. That led him to believe that he likely thought she had been bitten and turned by a vampire. So it seemed that their 'relationship' hadn't ended well. Still, here he was, walking up to her door to knock and meet up with her.
Before leaving, he had actually bothered to shower and change clothes. He still couldn't quite make himself shave. He still feared anything sharp near his throat, and his hand shook too badly with even a dull razor to accomplish anything. He was lucky that his facial hair didn't grow very fast, or he'd likely look like Grizzly Adams. He wasn't even sure why he had bothered to do anything, though. What was he expecting to come of this?
After pausing at her door for only an extra second, he raised his fist up and rapped it lightly against the door. He wasn't sure if this was a good idea or not, but he knew that, deep down, he had wanted to come here, even if it was likely to end badly for both of them.
