Kon had never felt so angry, it was just like Kaine said. It snuck in and took over before he could even realize what was happening. He had very few people he was that close too, one could probably count them on two hands. Nobody had ever taken most of them away from him in one shot. It was like a thousand tiny needles stabbing at his skin all at once, each one telling him to go in a different direction. Attack, destroy, rescue. Nowhere in that equation was anything about protecting himself, all he was concerned with was the safety of those who were stolen from him. It'd been his fault Clark was lost to the circus, it was his responsibility to get him back. He didn't understand why no one was letting him. He could tear it apart, it would be done in an instant. Instead they were getting in his way. Threatening to stop him when Dark was the real enemy.
The last thing he remembered was his head throbbing and and gasping for air before unconsciousness won out in the end by kryptonite. He didn't understand. He thought Lois had come to help him. Or at the very least get Clark out when he obliterated the carnival, instead she came at him with the little green rock that seemed entirely harmless to the human eye. To Kon it was anything but. It'd crippled him to the point of immobility. It caused fear.
Fear and anger drove him. Fear of losing people he loved kept him in that dark place. That was until light touched his face and his body burned off the tranquilizers. That sort of drug didn't last long in Kon's system. Most drugs wouldn't even touch him. He shifted uncomfortably, his entire body ached so he couldn't move very far or very fast without a burning sensation spreading through his nerves. His eyes began to open, but they were no longer that sky blue that matched Clark's. They were red. They took in their new surroundings and were not happy with what they found. Strange place, not his. Not Clark's. He began to try to push himself to get up and whimpered in pain.
