Who: Chloe Sullivan and Oliver Queen What: Apologizing, or Chloe's version of it. When: Saturday morning Where: Oliver's apartment at the complex Warnings: Aaaangst, anger, the usual. Status: Complete
This was the last place Chloe wanted to be. After her talk with Lois the previous night, she couldn't help but feel defeated. She knew that no matter what she did, she couldn't change what she had put Oliver and Lois through and chances were, things with them would never really go back to normal.
Especially with Oliver. With Lois, she knew she had to work for it, she knew her cousin would hold her to that and she had been up most of the previous night trying to come up with ways to win her trust back. Because she needed Lois and because she wanted to be able to be there for her when she needed her too. But they had known each other their whole lives, they were family, the very little family each of them had. The only family they had here. She figured that eventually, things would be at least semi-normal again.
With Oliver, however, she had none of that. They worked together, sure and since her arrival there, they had grown a lot closer as friends than they had been during her time. On top of that, with everything she had read about their future, she kept having those feelings toward him she didn't quite understand. But that was all on her. As far as she knew, for him, they were good friends and co-workers. That was all. There was no bond beyond that, nothing that would make him want to forgive her for her stupidity.
She had hurt him, that much had been obvious from the moment she woke up. He had trusted her with so much, had been completely honest with her about things that were obviously very hard for him to talk about and she had clearly not returned the favor. So why would he want to make an effort?
No matter how hard this was, however, she knew she had to try. She had promised him she'd talk to him once they got back and that was what she was going to do, because it was the least she could do after all the damage she had caused.
With a deep, calming breath, she tried to pull herself together, then knocked on his apartment's door. Then waited as she hugged the folder she had in her hand to her chest, almost trying to shield herself from his reaction to her.
