Who: Lois and Chloe
What: a reunion.
When: Friday night
Where: the Fortress of Solitude
Warnings: angst, possible destruction, definitely cursing
Lois hadn’t known what to make of anything when Clark told her Chloe was alive. She’d spent the night crying her heart out over losing her cousin, finally letting herself start to mourn her death before falling asleep only to find out hours after waking that she was alive. It made her head pound in confusion, adding to the pain she felt in every fiber of her body after hours of sobbing. She didn’t know what to do once Clark had left to collect Chloe, but thankfully Krypto had shown up before he left and was happily keeping her company.
The usually energetic dog lay at her feet, letting her silently stroke his head as she waited, wondering how long it would take Clark to retrieve Chloe and bring her to the crystal fortress. Lois couldn’t remember how long it had taken for them to travel when he’d kidnapped her the other day, but the waiting was making her anxious and it took all of her strength not to start pacing the bedroom she hadn’t stepped foot out of since breaking down on Clark.
Lois didn’t know how she was supposed to feel. Relieved that Chloe was alive, sure, but mostly she was confused as to how that was even possible. How had Chloe come back to life when Sherlock hadn’t just weeks before? And how the hell had her cousin managed to heal Jason and Tess? There were so many questions that Lois needed answered and she would get the answers to them. She wouldn’t stop prying until there wasn’t a single thing left unsaid between them.
“This better be a really good story,” she muttered, looking down at Krypto who nudged his nose into her hand for her to keep paying attention to him. “Or all bets are off on whether or not I disown her.” At least for a few days. No matter how mad Lois ever got at Chloe it never did last. She highly doubted whatever the circumstances that this case would be any different.
