He put a hand on her arm when she closed her eyes, hating seeing her upset for any reason. "Dan was a good man. He will be remembered well, by his sons." For Robin, it had just happened. The helplessness of seeing another victim fall at the whim of the Sheriff. It felt like an added weight on his shoulders, whenever he could not stop it. "The day wasn't all bad though, as I'm sure you'll recall," he added with an impish smile, to lighten the mood. Holding Marian in his arms had been a welcome interlude.
"Months?" At first, he didn't think that was too bad. Sure, a lot could happen in a few months, but things had, for the most part, been going well, at least where he and Marian were concerned. But there was a certain gravity to the words she added, that made him pause.
"What, Marian? What changed?" Please don't let anything have happened to her, was all he could think.
