It really was a good thing Robin kept that thought to himself. To be honest, Marian was unsure what she would do the day she finally did cross paths with Gisborne. The city wasn't huge, based on her exploring, and the odds weren't in her favor. Would she hit him, as she had on the day of the wedding that wasn't? Scream at him for what he'd done? Or simply break down? She'd thought about it often since Lois had told her that Guy was looking for her. And none of the options sounded right.
All thoughts of Guy flew from her head when the truth of Robin's words hit her. "The feigned Pestilence... I'd been framed. Dan..." Her eyes closed for a moment, the flood of emotions hitting her. Memories of that time, of risking catching the disease just to help the people of the city, of being in Robin's arms... But moreso, she was thinking of the fact that Robin knew nothing of their time together.
"I'm from...several months after you." How? How could this Seal, this awful thing, do this to them? To her? Now she was more determined than ever that it was forcing her to atone for her sins. It was only her time playing both sides of the law that allowed her to keep her expression neutral. All she really wanted to do was breakdown. Could she possibly tell him what all had happened since then? What was safe and what wasn't? "Things...changed. Considerably."
