"I'm here now." Her whispered words, and the way she lingered in his hold, spoke of how much she must have honestly believed they had been once more taken from each other, forever. It left him a little curious, too. Gisborne had talked about coming from a time ahead of him. And whilst where he was from, he and Marian had come a long way, she was never quite this willing to linger in his hold. There was her father to consider, or being seen by unfriendly eyes. And whilst here he knew that wasn't a concern, the way she was holding to him spoke volumes.
When she had first thrown herself forward and in to his arms, it had brought to mind that time a few months back, now, when she had come across him in Nottingham and done something similar. She'd said then that the Sheriff told her that he was dead. Not liking where that thought took him, he brushed it off.
When she moved back to look at him, he brought a hand up, wiping a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "I missed you, too." Even though it hadn't been all that long since he'd seen her. He'd been thrown by Gisborne's initial mention of her, and what that might mean. Had needed to see her to be comforted that she was okay.
